You see...travel opens doors that would otherwise stay closed. New places to see or return to see. (I especially have a few places I enjoy returning to numerous times). There's always interesting people to meet and share experiences with when you travel. Food...I could write an entire blog on food. Those who have traveled to Italy with me can affirm my statement that American pizza just doesn't cut it for me. There's culture like music and art, dance and architecture. Churches - museums - statues - historical sites....the list goes on an on.
So, why do so many of us choose not to travel? Money. I bet money is a big reason for you. It does seem to hold me back from all the places I would go if money were no object. So, start an "adventure fund." Decide where you want to go and figure out how much it will cost. Then budget. Cut out things that would keep you from contributing to the "adventure fund." Even better - get an adventure buddy to go in with you on the adventure. (I'm up for grabs...just sayin')
Time. I think time gets in my way more than anything else, really. I've decided to devote more time to my adventure plans in the next year. I'm setting my goal at one small adventure and one large adventure. We will see how this goes. I think the world can see like a cold and scary place to some people, but to me it's full of adventures just waiting to be discovered. Watch for more plans coming soon and maybe a chance for you to get involved!
Let's hit the road!
